Week 2 Begins...Check out the Supports available to you and Study Smarter, not Harder!!

Resources to make the most out of your learning!

1.  Tutoring in the ESL Library:   
Every Tues and Thurs from 12-1pm.
2.  Tutoring at the TLC (Tutoring Learning Centre):  Speaking and Writing Tutoring in C503 with Peer Tutors.  Check out their blog for more information.
3.  Student Success workshops and Peer Leader assistance:  Check this blog (www.eslatgbc.com) for upcoming workshops on speaking, writing, summarizing and vocabulary, as well as info on study tips and events. Peer Leaders are available in D304A.


Workshops this week:

1.  ESL Lab Orientation with Amber:  
Tues, March 15th/Thurs, March 17th:  3pm, ESL Library, D315.


2.  PowerPoint Basics with Amber: 
Wed., March 18th:  3pm, ESL Library, D315



3.   SUMMARY/PARAPHRASE Study Group (levels 4-8)
 Paraphrasing and Summarizing are key skills that you will need throughout your entire academic and working career.  Come out to practice the essential skills of Summary and Paraphrase in a small group setting led by your Peer Leaders. 

                                        When: Tuesdays (sched A) Thursdays (sched B)
                                        Where: D317 Tuesday; D309 on Thursday
                                                    Time: 12:00-1:30 pm



4.  Speak Up (levels 4-8) :  
Practice conversation and public speaking skills in a relaxed atmosphere and make new friends in the process.

Time: 3:00-4:30 pm


5.  Writing Skills Workshop with Stephen:
Improve your planning and writing skills.
When:  Thursdays:  3-4:30pm
