Welcome to the Summer Session at the School of ESL!

Ongoing Supports Available for You: 
 
1.  Tutoring at the TLC (Tutoring Learning Centre):   
Speaking and Writing Tutoring in C503 with Peer Tutors.  Check out their blog for more information.  

2.  Student Success Workshops and 
Peer Leader Assistance:   
Check this blog  for upcoming workshops and clubs, as well as info on study tips and events. Start a study group and we'll support you!  Drop by our office:

Five Workshops available for Speaking, Listening, Writing 
and Vocabulary Practice.  Workshops are held weekly, weeks 2-7.  See below for details or check out the summer schedule HERE!


1.  Academic Vocabulary & Writing (levels 6 and up)
Improve your knowledge and use of the Academic Word List by incorporating words from the list naturally in your writing.
When:  Mondays

Where: D301
Time:  3-5pm





2.  Vocabulary Workshop (levels 4 and up)
Vocabulary games, phrasal verbs, collocations! Learn new words and use them in vocabulary-related writing, speaking, & reading skills development.
When:  Tuesdays and Thursdays
Where:  Tues D302 and Thurs D308
Time:  12-1:30pm

 

3.  Listen Up (levels 5 and up)
Watch interesting TV programs to improve your listening skills, build your vocabulary and enhance cultural knowledge.
When:  Tuesdays and Thursdays
Where:  Tues D301 and Thurs D317
Time:  12-1:30pm

 



4.  Speak Up (levels 4-8) 
Practice conversation and improve your speaking confidence while meeting new friends.
When:  Wednesdays

5.  Writing Study Group (levels 5 and up)
Practice Brainstorming, Outlining and effective writing skills.
When:  Thursdays
