A beautiful start to week 3!

Ongoing Supports:
  • Tutoring is available in the ESL Library, D313.  Drop by every Tues and Thurs at 12pm  for English practice. 
  • The Tutoring Learning Centre is also available for English Language Support.  The TLC is located in Building C, room C503. 
  • Visit our Peer Leaders in D304A for support- or visit our workshops and study groups listed below.






  • Kurt, our Volunteer Coordinator has an opportunity to volunteer with seniors.  Drop by to visit him in D304 on Mon or Tuesday or email him kaydiner@hotmail.ca for more details.  *(yes!  it's hotmail.ca )  Kurt has other opportunities to share with you for volunteering with the Student Association and agencies in the GTA.  Get to know Kurt and get involved!!

We need your recipes for our International Cookbook!!
Send them by the end of this week, November 11th.
All Proceeds will go to the United Way. 
Please share your favourite recipes!
Include your name, level, recipe origin, a couple of lines about the recipe (special occasions, what you like about it etc), a picture if possible, and clear instructions.

The Toronto Marlies is a Canadian professional ice hockey team playing in the American Hockey League.  Be prepared for lots of fast-paced action!

Location:  Ricoh Coliseum (on the grounds of Exhibition Place)

Details:  2 FREE tickets available for 10 students who enter the draw.  Visit the ESL Office, D313 and enter to win by filling out a ballot.  
Ballots will be accepted from Monday, November 7th to Friday, November 11th.  Winners will be announced on Monday, November 14th.

5 Domestic and 5 International students will win 2 tickets.

Don't forget:  Bite of the Mango author, Mariatu Kamara, is coming to George Brown College  on November 30th,  3:30 pm in the St. James Career Centre. 
Copies of the book are available in our Library, the GBC Bookstore and bookstores throughout Toronto.
Take advantage of a great opportunity to meet the author of this inspiring true story.  We will have a final reading club meeting to discuss the book prior to Mariatu's visit.  Details to come!!
