Volunteer Activities

1.  Sell 50/50 tickets at the CONCACAF Soccer game at Rogers Centre

2. Doors Open Toronto 2012

 May 26 & 27 ,2012

Note: Only for students in level 5 and above!

City of Toronto is proud to present the annual Doors Open Toronto — one weekend, once a year — when close to 150 buildings of architectural, historic, cultural and social significance open their doors to the public for a city-wide celebration.


As an active Toronto Special Events Volunteer, you will:
  • receive recognition letters from the mayor and TSE staff after each festival
  • receive certificates of hours after each festival
  • be eligible for recognition awards
 Be an Information Ambassador for Doors Open and the City of Toronto!
Please not that all volunteers must attend an orientation session.

Date:           Thursday, March 29
Time:          6:30 to 8:30 pm
Location:    (City Hall)  Committee Room 2 at City Hall, 100 Queen Street West, northwest corner of Queen at Bay - stairs and elevators to Room 2 are at back of northwest side of lobby.

3.  Community Dinner at Bloor Lansdowne Christian Fellowship:

Looking for 7  volunteers to help out with our community dinner (for homeless and marginalized people) on Wednesday Feb 22th ( from 5:30pm to 7:00pm) and possibly to continue volunteering on an ongoing basis:  http://www.getinvolved.ca/profile/4198/ 
 
The event is happening rain or shine! Volunteers are needed to collect donations at the event gates. ESL volunteers welcome, but must be able to communicate comfortably in English with others without translation or rephrasing.


4.  United Way Toronto Special Events  invites you to apply for our 2012 special events Committee:
Work Directly with United Way Toronto Staff to strategize, plan and execute two exciting , large-scale fundraising events:
(The Scotia Bank Rat Race for United Way Thursday June, 14 ,2012 from 4pm-10pm and The Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way October 18,2012 to October 21,2012)



5.  Also:  two Long-Term Volunteer Opportunities :

1.  Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto (Volunteers  will work  with the children between six and 18 years of age in a one-to-one friendship in the community or school)

2. ALS Ontario is  looking for a Web Designer:  http://www.alsont.ca/

Fun In and Outside of Class!
